Our research group has a broad portfolio of activities within equilibrium and non-equilibrium thermodynamics. We combine experiments, theory and molecular simulations to address a variety of scientific and industrially relevant challenges, where sustainability and development of fundamental knowledge is important. Our lines of research are:

Two new articles on applications using electrodialysis

Two new articles have been accepted for publication in the journals Membrane and Desalination, entitled Enhancing Palladium Recovery Rates in Industrial Solutions through Electrodialysis and Selective recovery of ions from copper-contaminated effluents using electrodialysis. The main person behind these articles is PhD-candidate Pauline Zimmermann who ...

New article on membrane distillation

Our new paper entitled A systematic non-equilibrium thermodynamics approach for assessing transport mechanisms in membrane distillation has just been published in Desalination. Membrane distillation (MD) is a promising technique for purifying volatile liquids at temperatures below their boiling points. Our study presents ...

ERC Grant!

Our research project entitled InterLab received an ERC Starting Grant. In the project,  we will bring new understanding and methods to predict transport of heat and mass across vapor-liquid interfaces. The project is really wonderful news for our group; it allows us to ...
